Our organisation will concentrate on four activities: See Courses Feature script development See Courses Short and Feature Script reading service For a competitive fee, shorts, TV and features can be read and assessed with a detailed report written to enable the writer to progress on the script. Click on the link below for a sample of our script report. The fees for script reading are as follows: -
Once the reading has been completed, based on the quality of the script, we also offer free entry to our script database (see below) to promote the work to producers and directors. Filling out the following form gives you an entry and the chance to advertise your short to a wide range of filmmakers that we promote the database to. Click on the Download below to see the database submission form. Please make sure you send your script with a title page with your script name and contact details and in Rich Text Format (just select RTF from your Save as menu in the progam you use to write scripts with).
"Many thanks for the script report,
it was very imformative and I got a lot from it." Dan F. "All useful stuff , particularly around the structure." Stephen M. After the Short Film Script Workshop initiated by the Northern Film Network (NFN) in November 2001, an informal group has been meeting ever since (including Simeon Halligan and Stephen Trimingham in the group and facilitated by the NFN) and have been supporting each other with peer assessment and review. Although Northern Screenwriters would not closely supervise any further groups that may result from Script Workshops, these structures are very beneficial to writers and attendees would be encouraged and limited support of organisation could be offered to keep the value of a good peer group going. In order to "match make" between producers and directors and emerging writers, we propose to establish an online database of short and feature length scripts. Entry to the database is (subject to a quality check) as a result of completing a Script Workshop or by paying for the Script Reading service. The database will be initially populated by existing work by reputable writers. A detailed form will be generated to allow producers and directors to search for their requirements form a script. Database entries will include the following fields: - Genre All you need to do is fill out a form to synopses your script. Don't worry, your script is no online, just your précis of the plot and details allowing your script to be searchable based on length of script, budget, genre etc.
"I have received eight enquiries about
my scripts after only being on the Northern Screenwriters database for
three weeks. It makes a welcome change for producers and directors to
be chasing me, not vice versa. Roger D. For a preview of the form, click on the Download button below. The service is free and allows producers and directors on the hunt for great scripts to search online on our website. Once a script is chosen the director/producer is able to contact the writer (via e-mail) to begin negotiation to produce a film. |
